Sedum

Sedum or stonecrop is drought tolerant. Blooms from summer to autumn. Needs to be in well drained soil, requires little attention. Depending on variety, colors are white, pink, yellow, red and purple. Hummingbirds and butterflies are attracted to sedum. Don't over water, will cause root rot. Grows in full sun or partial shade in zones 3 - 10. April or may is a good time to apply compost which adjust the ph level by microbes that feed off compost. Mulch is also good to apply to help retain moisture.

Veronica Speedwell

A good bordering plant. Plant during spring. It's drought tolerant, needs to be planted in well drained soil, ph of 5.8- 6.2 in a sunny location. Grows in clusters of three feet tall with long spikes. Depth of hole should be twice the diameter of pot, deadhead to encourage more blooms. Needs to be cut two inches from soil line after first killing frost. Blooms from spring to autumn.

Repairing Concrete Sidewalk

A portion of damaged sidewalk taken out and repaired by using concrete mix, hoe, water, wheelbarrow and trowel. After removing the damaged concrete slabs, we poured in the concrete mix and smoothed it out using a trowel.

Lavender

Lavender, a herb is used for several things. It's used in medicine, to repel insects, for loss of appetite, upset stomach, for the treatment of insomnia as aromatherapy. Lavender is put in bathwater for circulation treatment, also lavender is used to put fragrance in perfumes, soaps and cosmetics. Lavender needs full sunlight, needs to be planted in well drained alkaline soil with a ph level between 6.4 to 8.2. Newly planted lavender should get plenty of water until the roots are established. Trim all dead flowers to stimulate new growth and blooms. Every two to three years cut back six inches.

Endless Summer Hydrangea

Endless Summer Hydrangea, a location with morning sun and afternoon shade. Use organic material in moist well drained soil. The hole should be twice the size of the rootball before planting. Putting mulch around keeps the soil moist. Grows three to five feet tall and grows well in zones 4 - 9.
