You can improvise when it comes to stakes for your tomato plants. I've found a couple of old broom handles and mop handles to do the job. All i had to do is saw off the ends and use a rubber hammer to knock the stakes down far enough to support the tomato plants. First i dug a trench using a pick and hoe. Second i put poting soil. Third i transplanted the tomato plants from the pots, then covering the plants with soil by using a shovel. Put the stakes as close as possible to the plants before hammering into the ground, then tie string, around the tomato plants and stake for support. Put plenty of water on each plant to reduce the shock of being transferred.
